Candidates wishing to join the Railway Protection Force as SIs or Constables should be aware that a recruitment circular will be made available by March 2024. Interested parties can apply online at https://rpf.indianrailways.gov.in/.
Once the official notification is released, the link to apply online for the position of Sub Inspector or Constable within the Railway Protection Force will also be opened. This link will stay active on the Railway Protection Force’s official website for at least four weeks.

RPF Eligibility Criteria 2024
The following are the age and educational requirements for the positions of Constable and Sub Inspector in the Railway Protection Force.
Qualifications for Education:
- SI: A bachelor’s degree from a university recognized by the UGC must have been pursued.
- Constable: A person’s passing the matriculation exam is a requirement.
Maximum Age:
- SI: The applicant’s age must be between 20 and 25 years old.
- Constable: Must be at least 25 years old and under the age of 18.
For OBC, SC/ST, and OBC, there will be a ten-year upper age relaxation, accordingly.

Application Fee for RPF 2024
A ₹500 application fee must be paid online with a debit card, credit card, NET banking, or UPI in order to apply for a position as a constable or sub inspector with the Railway Protection Force.
Only ₹250 will need to be paid by candidates who are female, from the Extremely Backward Class, Scheduled Tribes, and Scheduled Castes.

RPF Selection Procedure 2024
The Central Reserve Police Force has three steps in the selection process: CBT, PET, and PST. These stages are used to choose candidates for the positions of Constable and Sub Inspector. See the information below for more details.
Test by Computer (CBT):
Topics covered include general awareness, arithmetic, reasoning, and general intelligence.

- Negative Marking: One mark is subtracted for every wrong response.
Test of Physical Efficiency (PET):
- Police officer: 1600 meters Man: 5 minutes and 45 seconds
800 m run: 3 min 40 sec for the female
Male long jump: 14 feet
Woman: nine feet
Male high jump: 4 feet
Woman: three feet - Sub-Inspector: Six hundred meters Male: 6 minutes and 30 seconds
800-meter run: 4 minutes for women
Male long jump: 12 feet
Woman: nine feet
Elevated Jump:
3 feet 9 inches for men and 3 feet
Test for Physical Measurements (PMT):
- The Sub-Inspector and Constable:
Height: 165 cm (UR/OBC)
SC/ST measurement: 160 cm
For the designated categories: 163 centimeters
Chest (for men only):
UR/OBC: 80 cm, expanding to a minimum of 85 cm
SC/ST: 76.2 cm, extending to a minimum of 81.2 cm.

FAQs RPF Notification 2024
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required of candidates. For Sub-Inspector, only a matriculation certificate from an approved institution and a degree from an accredited board or university are admissible. It is not necessary for candidates whose final exam results are pending to apply for the RPF SI.
