Entitlements Under PM Cares For Children Yojana

Support for Boarding and Lodging

  • The district magistrate with the welfare committee will make efforts to explore the possibility of rehabilitating the child with the extended family, relative, or kin.
  • If the extended family does not want to reinhabit the child then the child whose age is between 4 to 10 years will be placed in foster care after due diligence.
  • If the foster family is not available then the child will be placed in an appropriate child care Institution.
  • Those children whose age is more than 10 years and are not received by extended family or foster family then they will be enrolling in Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose awasiya Vidyalaya, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Eklavya Model School, Sainik School, Navodaya Vidyalaya or any other residential School.

  • For children under the age of 6, the Anganwadi service offers support and assistance in various areas such as supplementary nutrition, preschool education, and immunization.

  • Government schools under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan provide free uniforms, textbooks, and other necessities.
  • Private school students are exempted from tuition fees under the RTE act.
  • In case a child is unable to access the aforementioned benefits, the fees will be covered by the PM Care Fund.

  • Identification of beneficiary-The district magistrate will lead a campaign to identify eligible beneficiaries in collaboration with different departments. This scheme aims to provide assistance to children who have experienced the loss of both parents, surviving parents, legal guardians, adoptive parents, or single adoptive parents. These children will be entitled to receive the benefits of this program.
  • Opening of account:- After proper verification of the eligibility of the candidate an account will be opened in the name of the child. If the child’s age is below 18 years then his or her account will be opened with the district magistrate as joint account holder till he or she attains 18 years of age. For those children whose ages above 18 years on the date of joining of the account a single account will be opened in such a case
  • Beneficiary registration- After the identification of the beneficiary the request for seeking support will be filled by the child or caregiver or any other agency producing the child before CWC. All the identified children will be registered on the portal within a week’s time
  • Beneficiary verification- After filling the form the completing authority will carry out verification in order to identify eligible beneficiaries. The authorities will check the eligibility criteria of the candidate. If it is found that the child is ineligible then he or she will be disqualified from the scheme and if it is found at the child is qualified then his or her account will be opened in which funds will be transferred.
  • Transfer of funds:- After opening the bank account the benefit amount will be credited directly into the account of the beneficiary. Authorities have to disburse the amount into the account of the beneficiaries within one month of the receipt of the fund
  • Linkage Of Beneficiaries With Other Scheme:- It is mandatory to have an Aadhar Card in order to take benefit of this scheme. If the beneficiary does not have Aadhar Card then authorities will facilitate the Aadhar registration

  • If the grievance is pending for more than 15 days then it will automatically be escalated to the state or union territory level
  • If the grievance is not attended to for 30 days then the grievance will be escalated to the Ministry of Women and child development automatically.
